Eman Rettig, Psy.D.

Dr. Eman Khwaja Rettig earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from Wright State University’s School of Professional Psychology. She completed an APA-accredited pediatric neuropsychology residency at Dell Children’s Medical Center/UT Austin, followed by a two-year APPCN-accredited pediatric neuropsychology fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.

She is currently a pediatric neuropsychologist at Children’s Health Medical Center and an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. She works within the Pauline Allen Gill Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders—the largest childhood cancer center in North Texas—providing outpatient neuropsychological evaluations and leading clinical research.

Dr. Rettig previously served as a pediatric neuropsychologist at Dell Children’s Medical Center and as an Assistant Professor of Neurology and Pediatrics at Dell Medical School. Her work included inpatient neuropsychological assessment for acquired and traumatic brain injuries and development of an outpatient follow-up clinic to monitor cognitive recovery.

Committed to the scientist-practitioner model, Dr. Rettig’s research focuses on risk-stratified neurocognitive monitoring, cancer and cognition, health literacy, program development, and cognitive screener development. 

Culturally responsive practice is central to her work. She prioritizes cultural humility, integrates culturally informed approaches into training, and presents on translating cultural theory into practice.
