Dr. Julia Maietta earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology with a training specialty in neuropsychology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She completed her predoctoral internship and first year of postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) in Oklahoma City. Dr. Maietta completed an additional year of postdoctoral fellowship in Concussion, Rehabilitation, and Neuropsychology at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital/Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Maietta has published peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, and has given numerous conference symposium and poster presentations at local, regional, national, and international conferences. Her research interests include best practices for the assessment and management of sport concussion, particularly in those with neurodevelopmental disorders, such as ADHD. She is also interested in the impact of head injury on neurodegenerative conditions.
In addition to her academic and research work, she has been actively involved in advocacy and leadership at the national level. In addition to her service for KnowNeuropsychology, she currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Massachusetts Neuropsychological Society, is the 2025-2027 American Psychological Association (APA) Council Representative for the Society of Clinical Neuropsychology, and serves on the APA’s CPT Advisory Committee where she helps to advocate for billing and reimbursement issues in psychology. She has previously held leadership positions within the American Psychological Association of Graduate Students (APAGS), Society for Clinical Neuropsychology (SCN), and the National Academy of Neuropsychology (NAN).
