
Dr. Alex Hammond is a first-year neuropsychology fellow at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. She completed her doctoral degree in combined clinical/counseling psychology at Utah State University and her pre-doctoral internship at the John D. Dingell VA in Detroit, Michigan. Clinically, she enjoys conducting pre-surgical neuropsychological evaluations, working with patients with movement disorders, as well as a wide-range of other neurodegenerative conditions. Dr. Hammond’s research interests are centered around examining risk factors that affect disease presentation and progression of neurodegenerative diseases, developing assessment and screening tools leading to early detection and treatment, and informing policy surrounding ethical clinical practices. She has served in several leadership positions and is currently enjoying providing supervision and training to doctoral practicum students. Dr. Hammond is looking forward to assisting in efforts to ensure equitable access to the field of neuropsychology through providing mentorship to trainees, as well as through her service as a KnowNeuropsychology committee member.
