Dr. Eman K. Rettig is a pediatric neuropsychologist at Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin, Texas. She also serves as an assistant professor in the departments of neurology and pediatrics at the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School. She completed her doctoral degree in clinical psychology at Wright State University, in Dayton, Ohio. This included a predoctoral internship specializing in pediatric neuropsychology at Dell Children’s Medical Center and Dell Medical School. She went on to complete her postdoctoral fellowship specializing in pediatric neuropsychology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Clinically, Dr. Rettig specializes in acquired and traumatic brain injuries. She primarily practices on the inpatient neurorehabilitation unit. She also established a follow-up continuity clinic to conduct outpatient neuropsychological evaluations for pediatric patients post hospital discharge. This inpatient to outpatient pipeline ensures continuity of care and monitoring of cognitive recovery. Dr. Rettig is especially passionate about promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice in personal and professional settings. This includes taking a culturally sensitive approach to clinical practice and training. She has also researched and presented on topics including various acquired and traumatic brain injuries, epilepsy, neurodevelopmental disorders, and culturally sensitive clinical practice.
